Suzanne Roels Soprano and Actress

For years, Suzanne has wholeheartedly pursued her passion for acting, singing, and dancing, weaving them together to craft breathtaking concerts and shows.

Her journey began at the Guildford School of Acting in the U.K., where she honed her skills and developed a profound love for the English language. Her singing teacher was opera singer Maureen Morrell. Suzanne has then developed herself as an opera singer and actress. Having returned to the Netherlands, Suzanne has graced the screens in numerous commercials, TV series, short films, and theatrical productions, showcasing her immense talent and captivating presence. She has followed acting and singing masterclasses in the Netherlands and abroad. She has studied with baritone David Wilson Johnson, mezzosoprano Christa Pfeiler and Bram Norbart. She now studies with Amand Hekkers.

In preparation for her CD Les Bijoux ( French classical song) she has worked with Robin Bowman and Rudolf Jansen. Beyond the classical repertoire, Suzanne delights in exploring lighter genres like jazz, French chansons, and timeless evergreens.

Suzanne regularly gives concerts and recitals with pianist Maarten Hillenius. Singing in ‘Scrooge’ Zuiderparktheater DenHaag, Canal Concert OudZuid Amsterdam, Nazomernachtlicht (theatre in the woods) Overveen, Cromhouthuis Amsterdam, Opening Sail Amsterdam; The Parade theatre show, Mermaidshow for Teylersmuseum Haarlem, the Paauw pond concert Wassenaar, City on the Water at the new Bimhuis concert hall, Italy Event Castle de Haar Haarzuylen, Open-air Concert at the ‘ De Haerecastle’ and for the Prins Bernhard Culture Fund. She frequently appears with her Theatre- Concerts in theatres, churches and casttles across the Netherlands. Les Bijoux; French Songs of Fauré, Chausson, DuParc and Hahn, is her debut CD.

In November 2018 Suzanne presented her new One woman show ‘A Soul’s Journey’, a captivating tale of love, honour, and strength. It’s a fusion of Shakespearean monologues, enchanting opera arias, and graceful dance. A story in English written by herself with pianist Maarten Hillenius, director Kevin Bennett and choreographer Sophia Maria Kienhuis staged in Tobacco theatre in Amsterdam.

In 2022 and 2023 she has followed Meisner actingclasses of Alex Murphy at Mulholland Academy.

In 2023 and 2024 she produced the english play ‘Where’s my money?’ by John Patrick Shanley, directed by Beek Groot and she played the lead role of Nathalie in the English theatre ‘Mike’s Badhuistheater’ in Amsterdam.

In 2024 she has played the role of Touchstone in ‘As you like it’ Shakespeare directed by William Sutton in the English Mike’s Badhuistheater in Amsterdam.

In 2025 she has playied the role of Beatrice in ‘Much ado about nothing’ Shakespeare directed by William Sutton in the English Mike’s Badhuistheater in Amsterdam. And she played the Fool Feste in Twelfth Night, Shakespeare directed by William Sutton in Mike’s Badhuistheatre in Amsterdam. And she created her ‘Suitcase Concert’ with Opera, Musical & English, French and Italian song
